Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre following a brief illness, Herman Roberts, age 79 years. Predeceased by his infant daughter Peggy; his parents, Fred and Geneva Roberts; parents-in-law, Malcolm and Ivy Harris; brother, Ernest Roberts & son-in-law, David Cox. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 59 years, Edith (nee Harris); daughters: Frances (Robert DeLacey) and Kathleen Cox (David, deceased); son, Danny (Glenda); grandchildren: Danny Roberts Jr. (Sherri), Shannon Roberts, Gregory DeLacey (Erica), Jesse Cox, Holly Cox, Tara Clarke (Ray), Jodi Dinn (Mike), Jordan Roberts and Justin Roberts; great-grandchildren: Paige and Peyton Roberts, Sam and Allie Clarke, and Avayah Roberts; sisters: Vivian Jennings (Pierce), Barbara Hibbs (Wilmore), Verna King (Reg), Phyllis Roberts (Brenton) and Beryl Roberts; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Funeral service will take place at the Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Avenue, St. John's, NL on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be gratefully accepted and may be delivered to the Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Avenue, or donations are gratefully accepted and may made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Herman's memory.
