Patton, Betty Lou, 73, Brentwood, Colchester County, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Beal) Irvine. Betty was a lively woman who some may refer to as a fireball She enjoyed getting out and socializing with members of the community, and those who frequented her yard sales. She stayed connected to family and friends by hosting get-togethers and card games, on the phone or by written letter. She treasured the smallest of gifts, especially those from her grandchildren. Betty’s passion in life was her animals. She has had many over the years, but nearest to her heart were her dogs Peanut, Brandy, Boo, Mickey, Minnie and her cats.
She is survived by daughters Marlene of Alberta, Kathleen (Bill) of Ontario; sons Robert (Lynn) of Brentwood, NS, William (Anne) of Ontario, Michael (Katy) of Ontario, Jimmy (Karen) of Ontario; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friend Mary.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30-years Michael Patton; son David Boake; grandson Gary Boake.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation or funeral service by Betty’s request.
