Ramsey, Walter C. - Middle Musquodoboit

Ramsey, Walter Clarence – Of Middle Musquodoboit, November 11, 1926 – February 25, 2016. Walter was known as a farmer, carpenter, machinist, reciter of poetry, former manager of the Halifax County Exhibition, secretary of the Musquodoboit Valley horse show, a veteran of The Second World War, and was active in the Royal Canadian Legion and the IOOF. He was a son of the late Douglas Allan and Margaret Elsie (Scott) Ramsey; and the husband of the late Frances (Rose) Ramsey.

Surviving are sisters, Alice (Burt) MacHattie, Shirley Bradshaw, Eunice (David) Fizzard; his children, Bonnie Ramsey (Roger Drolet), Beverly (Vincent) Crowston, Brian (Linda), David (June); grandchildren, Francois Drolet (Stephanie Boggs), Stephane Drolet, Arwen Crowston, Devin Crowston (Ashley Forsyth), Melissa (Dave) Conway, Jennifer Lancaster, John (Jennifer) Bowman. He was predeceased by sisters, Grace Rose, Beatrice Andrews; brother, Lawrence.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 2 p.m., beginning with a Legion tribute service in Middleton United Church, Middle Musquodoboit, Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating. The family will meet friends at a reception downstairs in the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
