JOHN THOMAS MURPHY
September 3, 1954 – February 25, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Murphy announces his passing surrounded by his loving family on Thursday February 25, 2016 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 61 years. John was predeceased by his mother Lillian Murphy, mother and father in law Maude and Tom Short, brothers in law; Clifford Gaulton, Steward Gaulton, Isaac Short, Ted Lomond, Wilson White, and William McNeil. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories his devoted wife Norma (nee Short) of 30 years. A proud dad of his three precious girls, John will forever remain in the hearts of his daughters Kelly Murphy (Cory Sheaves), Kayla Murphy, Keisha Murphy all of Port aux Basques. He will also be sadly missed by his father William Murphy Port aux Basques, brothers and sisters; Jim (Mary) Murphy Port aux Basques, Dan (Lorraine) Matthews, Bernice Murphy all of London ON, Paul (Rhonda) Murphy, Steve (Karen) Murphy all of Port aux Basques, George (Shelly) Murphy London ON, Scott Murphy, Madonna Murphy both of Port aux Basques. John will also be forever missed by his sisters and brothers in law; Joan (Bert) LeRiche, Joyce (Matthew) Young, Doreen (Ernest) Dowding, Shirley White (Charlie Pynn), Maisie (George) Osmond, Viola (Jordan) Elms, Julia (Larry) Kempton, Elsie McNeil, Norman (Julia) Short all of Port aux Basques, Llewellyn Short (Lynn) Stephenville NL, Nelson Kettle, Margie Gaulton (Stuart Kettle), Marina Short all of Port aux Basques. Special caregiver Tara Balram who went above and beyond for John and our family and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services took place on Monday February 29, 11 am at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Steven Maki, interment followed at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of John are graciously accepted by his family.
