The death occurred peacefully of Frances Mary Rowe (McCarville) on February 25, 2016, with continual care by family, her friend (Marion) and the caring staff of Wedgewood Manor.
Born November 14, 1920 in Newton, long-time resident of Emerald, daughter of John and Annie (nee Kelly) McCarville and beloved wife of Albert Rowe.
Survived by her sister Sr. Joanne McCarville (Sisters of St. Martha), and her children Alberta (Tom-deceased) McMullan, Toronto; Helen (Bob) Mulvihill, Ottawa; Paula (Fred) Rose, Ottawa; Charles (Lin Ann), Mississauga; Joanne, Halifax; Bernadette (Joe McAskill), Charlottetown; Janet (Carman-deceased) Cann, Summerside; Bev, Emerald; Karen (Doug) Connell, Fernwood; John (Teresa), Dartmouth; Peter, Edmonton; Mary Clare (Mike Adams), Calgary; Jennifer, Ottawa; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by loving husband, Albert Rowe; sister, Sr. Mary McCarville CSM; brother, Cyril McCarville; daughter, Gwen and (Bill) Burton; son, Gerard; daughter, Mary (in infancy); and grandchild, Darcy Mulvihill.
Visitation at Kinkora Place, Kinkora (opposite the church), on Thursday, March 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Members of the CWL will say prayers on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. prior to visitation. Funeral mass to be held at St. James Catholic Church, Summerfield on Friday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow at the Emerald Community Center.
Donations in Frances' memory may be made to St. James Church Cemetery Fund or Wedgewood Manor Memorial Trust Fund.
Frances was a beautiful, gentle person who especially treasured her large family and her faith. She loved playing bridge, auction, the seashore and the piano. The Robins' Return was one of her favourites. Frances welcomed all with her smile and endeared them with her sense of humour and kindness, always putting others first. She will be missed by all who knew her.
