JARDINE, EDYTHE
Edythe Jane Jardine (West) died peacefully with her family around her, at the Doctor Everett. Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Edythe was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth. She was born in East Chipman on May 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Victor and Clara West.
Edythe is survived by her children Victor (Brenda) Jardine of North Gower, Ontario, Elizabeth (David) MacBeth of Chipman, Catherine (Peter) Campbell of Chipman, Natalie (Scott) Maston of Minto and Dr. Paul (Evelyn Stillwell) Jardine of St. Paul, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren, Nolan (Sarah), Jessica (Mike), Ethan, Clare, Adam, Elizabeth, Laura, Luke, Minna, Kate and lsak; and three step-grandchildren, Shelley (Mark), Angie (Kenny) and Lisa (Jason) and eight step-great grandchildren. Also survived by sister Patricia (David) Jordan, brother Keith, sisters in-law Margaret Ann (Gary) Hamilton and Sharon (Jerry) VanDerWal and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edythe also predeceased by grandson Phillip Kenneth, and siblings Nina, Gladdie, Gerald, Sylvia and Anne.
During her eighty years, Edythe cared for her family and members of her community selflessly. Always one to volunteer, she belonged to Chipman Home and School Association, Minto-Chipman Lionettes, Alumi and Friends of Chipman Schools, Chipman Youth Center Board of Directors, Adopted Grandparent program, JOY club, Thimble and Thread Quilting Group, and Red Hat Society. A founding member of Chipman Community Care, Edythe believed in helping others and making a difference in her community. She was awarded the honor of Chipman Distinguished Citizen in 2010 and recently was recognized for her contribution to the heritage of her community. Edythe loved her church and worked tirelessly as a member of the Anglican Church Women, a Sunday School Teacher and a Diocesan Layreader.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Sunday, March 6 when funeral service will be held from St. Augustine's Anglican Church at 2PM. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 5 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9PM at the Chipman Funeral Home and Crematorium.
Donations made to St. Augustine's Anglican Church or Chipman Youth Center would be appreciated by the family.
