NEW GLASGOW – Julie Doreen MacPherson, 59, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Stanley and Harriet Isabel (Turner) Avery. Julie enjoyed crocheting, painting, quilting and bowling. She was an active volunteer with her children’s many school activities; chaperoning school trips, dances and assisting where possible. Affectionately known as “Judge Julie”, she leaves a legacy of selflessness, strength and devotion.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Gordon; son, Trevor (Wendy), Calgary, Alta; daughters, Ashley (Tyler) and Chelsea (Danny), Truro; Hilary (Dustin), New Glasgow; sister, Ina (Kenny) Allen, Bonnyville, Alta; brothers, Doug, Pugwash; John (Danielle) and Bill, New Glasgow; Hugh, Halifax; grandchildren, Karagan, Brogan, Thea and an anticipated bundle of joy; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Brian in infancy.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
