MADSEN, MYRTLE
After a long period of declining health, Myrtle Helena (Matheson) Madsen passed away peacefully in her own home in St Stephen, N.B. on Friday, March 4, 2016. Myrtle was born in Little Ridge, N.B. on August 18, 1925, the daughter of Eva (Hamilton) and Hugh Matheson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, W. Hazen Madsen, one infant son, Gary, two daughters; Shirley Dow and Helena Wry, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by one son, Albert Madsen (Betty) of New Maryland, NB., 11 grand children, 19 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at The S. O. Mehan & son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB. from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment will follow at the Scotch Ridge Cemetery, Scotch Ridge, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scotch Ridge Cemetery Fund, the Canadian Lung Association or the charity of one's choice.
A heart-felt thank you goes to all the ladies of Home Support Services Inc and the Extramural Nurses who cared for Myrtle in recent years, with special appreciation going to Debbie Gibson, Danny Dow and Joyce Walker for the extra time and efforts they made towards making her final time on this earth as comfortable as possible.
