Suddenly at his late residence in DeBlois, on Friday, March 4, 2016, of John James (Jimmy) Gillis, age 67 years. Beloved husband of Beverley Ann (nee LeClair) Gillis. Born at Alberton on April 5, 1948, he was the son of the late Terrance and Ida (nee Richard) Gillis. Loving father to Trever (Deborah), of St. Peter and St. Paul, Quentin (Tanya O'Brien), of Glenfinnan, Krystle (Dennis) Bulger, of O'Leary. Cherished grandfather to Cassie, Cameron, Keigan, Mason and Hannah. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Arsenault, of Ontario, and by a brother, Lawrence Gillis, of Summerside. He will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and by his many friends.
He was predeceased by a sister, Darlene Camiterri. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday, March 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, March 8, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, for funeral mass at 2 p.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the Church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund, or to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
