CORMIER, GUYMOND "GUY"
It is with sad hearts, the family of Guymond “Guy” Cormier of Fredericton, announce his peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday March 7, 2016, surround by the love of his family. He was 67. As is life, Guy demonstrated courage and resolve in his final hours. Guy was born in Moncton, NB on June 18, 1948, a son of Marie (Melanson) Cormier and the late Zoel Cormier.
Guy attended Holy Family Parish Church, Hanwell, NB. He was a retired Postal Worker (Fredericton) with Canada Post.
Besides his dear mother, Marie Cormier of Fredericton, Guy leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, the former Linda Geldart. Guy and Linda took great joy in raising their two sons, Mike Cormier of Winnipeg and David C.J. Cormier of Fredericton and was continually delighted by his five grandchildren, Alex, Kelsey Dawn, Mathieu, Jenna Dawn and Ashley Nicole and was especially proud of his great-grandson Oliver. Guy is also survived by a sister, Zoe Steeves (Lloyd) of NS and a niece, Sandra Murray.
His father Zoel Cormier, an infant son Clifford and a niece, Cathy McGill all predeceased him.
You are invited to Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton to visit with the Cormier family and share some memories with them on Wednesday, March 9, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm in the evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Family Parish Church, Hanwell, NB on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Father Bill Brennan as Celebrant. Private interment in St. Jacques Roman Catholic Cemetery, Scoudouc, NB.
The family has suggested the I.W.K Health Care Foundation (NS) or a favorite charity of your choice for memorial contributions.
