Lilian Dorothy (Quarry) Cheetham

Lilian Dorothy (Quarry) Cheetham

Lieu de naissance : Birkenhead England

Date de décès : 7 mars 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Lilian Dorothy Cheetham (Quarry) on Mar. 7, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on 1944 in Birkenhead England, Lilian immigrated to Toronto with her father George in 1965 following the death of her mother, where she soon met and married her devoted husband of almost 49 years. After the birth of their two children, the couple moved to Cape Breton “home”. Over the years, Lilian, an incredible crafter, gifted her friends and family with beautiful Christmas ornaments that will be treasured for generations to come. A quiet, thoughtful and deeply caring woman, her diminutive 4’10” frame housed a huge heart. “Good things come in small packages,” she proclaimed proudly when teased about her lack of inches. Those graced with her love KNOW the BEST things come in small packages.
Lilian is survived by the love of her life husband, Ken; daughter, Kim; son, Steven (Cherry) and sisters, Patricia (Brian) Rothwell and Eileen (Peter) Morris.
She was predeceased by her father, George; mother, Edna and infant brother, Geoffrey.
She will be deeply missed by her Cheetham sisters and brothers of the heart, numerous nieces and nephews across Canada, and of course her “baby” Roscoe, the Wonder Pup.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 12 to 3 p.m. followed directly by a chapel service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating, followed by a luncheon at the K.O.C Hall, Plummer Avenue. All are welcome. Burial will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Avenue, New Waterford. 902-862-7500.
The family asks that any donations be made to the Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
