Ryan, Robert Arthur – Tatamagouche. It is with great sadness that the family of Robert announce his sudden passing at Lillian Fraser Hospital in Tatamagouche on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Robert was raised in Truro, Colchester County, Nova Scotia and was the son of the late Arthur and Mona (Koppel) Ryan. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Ryan (nee Schofield), infant daughter, Hazel Evelyn and brother, Gordon (Cranbrook BC.). He is survived by daughter Darlene (Terry) Wyss, of Ottawa; son Eric (Velma), of Stratford, PEI. Robert was very proud of his grandchildren, Shaun (Tammy) Purdy, Halifax; Kirsten (Gerry) (Purdy) Shortill, Orleans, Ont.; his great grandchildren, Stephanie Mason, Orleans Ont.; Liam and Ewan Fowler-Purdy, Halifax. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice Cox (Dave) and Edith Fraser. Bob was an active volunteer in the Tatamagouche community and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hills of Annan Social Club, and for many years a member of the Truro Lions Club. Bob and Evelyn were regulars at local dances and card parties in the Truro and Tatamagouche area for several years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Coulters Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Drive, Tatamagouche. No funeral service to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory can be made to the Tatamagouche Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, Willow Lodge or a charity of your choice.
