It is with great sadness that the family of Aulden Wardlow Grant announce his passing on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. The loving and cherished husband of Bonnie (Boone) Grant, Aulden was born on May 24, 1940 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Raymond and Leora (Hawkins) Grant.
Aulden will be always be remembered for his gentle, soft spoken way and his unwavering generosity to all that knew him. He loved sports, in his younger years he played various sports and then became a fan and spent countless hours watching any and all types of sports on TV. He also looked forward to spending time with his buddies at their camp on the Dungarvon.
Throughout his professional life Aulden had many experiences including a owning and operating a Grocery Store in Nashwaaksis, 23 years as a Butcher at the Chippan’s Meat Plant, and was self-employed owning and operating Grant’s Saw Sharpening from 1990 to 2015.
Aulden had so many friends and certainly this is a true testament to the wonderful person that he was. He enjoyed and held dear all of those friendships that have lasted throughout his life.
In addition to his wife, Aulden is survived by sister, Judy (Fran) Dobbelsteyn of Rusagonis, NB; brothers Marvin (Marge) and Ken of Fredericton; Wendell (Sue); of Bowmanville, ON; Sister’s in law, Irma (David) Irving; Barbara (late Harry) Hagerman; Jacqueline (Bill) Parsons; Lucille (Dale) Barnet; Carol Rickard (Doug Monaghan); Sandra Guitar. Brothers in law, Eldon (late Joyce) Thomas; Danny (Karen) Boone; Bud Boone; Stanley (Lynn) Boone. Many nieces and nephews.
Aulden was predeceased by his parents, parents in law, Fred and Irene Boone, Sister Joyce, Brother Donnie, brothers in law Douglas Boone and Harry Hagerman.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at Bishops’ Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday March 24 from 11 am until 1pm. At which time a celebration of Aulden’s life will be held from the Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
