SHAND, Gladys May, 81, of East Jordan, passed away at Roseway Hospital on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Born in West Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah (Sperry) Wamback. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in Sunday family meals and gatherings. In her early years she was a noon hour supervisor at Osborne Elementary School, was an Avon sales representative and worked on the production line at Pierce Fisheries. Gladys was an avid bingo fan and Lockeport Gold Rush supporter. She enjoyed tending to her flowers. Gladys is survived by sons, Charles (Betsy); Marty (Tina); daughter, Tanya (Phillip) Seaboyer; brother, Martin Wamback; sister, Viola Townsend; grandchildren, Matthew (Jeanine), Maureen (Patrick), Tim, Trent, Tanya, Malcolm and Cassie; great-grandchildren, Austin, Annabella, Julia, Abbigail and Wyatt, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James and daughter Trudy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd. Shelburne. A private family committal will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Lockeport First Responders or the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
