STEEVES, MARJORIE
The Steeves family was saddened with the passing of Marjorie Grace (Jardine) Steeves on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Thomas Hall, Fredericton. She was born in 1935 in Blackville, NB, a daughter of the late Ephriam and Carrie Jardine. She was one of 13 children.
She was the loving wife of Gordon Steeves formerly of Hillsborough. Gordon and Marjorie spent most of their years living in Grand Falls and retired in Fredericton.
Marjorie was the mother of Lynn Steeves of Grand Falls, Anthony Steeves (Joanne) of Ancaster, Ontario, Glenn Steeves (Nathalie) of Drummond. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Malinda, Neills, Lisa and Brian, as well as great-grandchildren, Amelia and Jackson. She is also survived by sisters, Isabelle Hetherington, Elva (Ed) Young, Barbara Jardine, Faye (Robert) Pleadwell and Phyllis Fong; three brothers, Amos (Helen) Jardine, Nelson (Joyce) Jardine and Richard (Daphne) Jardine; three brothers-in-law, Al Kehoe, Sterling Langan and Don Finlay; several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predeceased by her sisters; Bernice Kehoe, Delphine Langan, Linda Finlay and one brother, Durward Jardine, two brothers-in-law, Thurman Hetherington and Charles Fong, sister-in-law, Philomena (MacDonald) Jardine.
Marjorie worked for McCain Foods in Grand Falls for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She loved playing board games and cards and her favourite baseball team was the Blue Jays.
Resting at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Monday, March 28th from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be an Eastern Star Service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 29th at 2 p.m. from the Grand Falls Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Johnston officiating. A reception will follow at the Grand Falls Curling Club. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
