At Villa du Repas Nursing Home of Moncton, April 2, 2016, Mrs. Cecile Desjardins of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 91. She was the widow of Leon Desjardins. Born at Drummond in 1924, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Massé) Ouellette.
Mrs. Desjardins was a teacher for 33 years. The past few years, she had moved to Moncton to be closer to her children. She truly enjoyed time spent with her family. When she lived in Grand Falls, she did volunteer work and was a member of the "Dames d'Acadie".
She is survived by her children, Jean-Marie Desjardins (Lorraine) and Adrienne Melanson (Normand), her grandchildren, Serge (Véronik), André (Tracey), Annie (Nicolas) and Mélanie (Bertin), her great grandchildren, Henri, Vincent, Rémi, Thomas, Annabelle and Zavier, one sister, Laureen Toner (Brian) of Grand Falls, one brother, François Ouellette (Sylvia) of Drummond, sister-in-law, Clara Ouellette (late Maurice) of Longueuil, Quebec, as well as nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Aline Godbout, Lauria and Marie and her brothers, Gerard, Alderic, Louis-Philippe, Anthelme, Rheo, Maurice, Francois at the age of three and an infant brother, Joseph.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday, April 8th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 9th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.
