TAYLOR, ROLAND "ROLLIE" JOSEPH JOHN
Roland “Rollie” J. J. Taylor, 75, of Moncton, with his loving wife at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, April 2, 2015. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Joseph and Muriel (Barsalo) Taylor.
Rollie was a retired correctional officer and also spent 30 plus years as a volunteer umpire; giving to the sport he loved so much enriching the lives of countless people of all ages in the process. Rollie touched many people and made wonderful memories with everyone he met, whether a new friend or his old friends, he will be missed greatly. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, his kindness and generosity was felt by many.
Rollie is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Bev Taylor (McLean); his daughter Michelle and grand-daughter, Kenzie as well as his daughter, Flo “Red” of Toronto, ON; son, Steve (Heather) of Strathroy, ON and grandchildren, Kathryn Ann, James and Meghan.
In addition to his parents, Rollie was predeceased by his sister, Alice Ryan.
In honoring Rollie’s wishes, no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment to be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
Donations in Rollie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
