Smith, Ethel Alberta
It is with great sadness the family of Ethel Alberta Smith, age 94, wife of the late Gerald F. Smith, of Lower Cambridge, NB, announces her death which occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on April 5, 2016 with her dear friend Margaret-Ann Ashfield by her side. Born in Cambridge, NB, on July 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Susie (Camp) Black.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Marie Perry of Lower Cambridge, NB; granddaughter Dawn Perry of Lower Cambridge, NB; sisters-in-law: Joyce Smith of Kingston, ON, and Effie Smith of Avon Park, FL; nephews: Gordon and Barbara Black, Donald and Marlene Black and Alvin and Dora Smith; niece Diane and John Osborne; as well as several grand and great grand nephews and nieces and cousins. Besides her parents and her loving husband of 69 years, Ethel was predeceased by her infant sister Beulah Black; brother Arthur Black and his wife Evelyn; son-in-law Ronald Perry; and brothers-in-law Douglas and Llewellyn Smith.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visiting on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral service conducted by Rev. Philip Penny will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, April 9, 2016. A private family interment will take place in First Cambridge Baptist Cemetery.
