MITCHELL JOHNSON, EDNA M.
On Wednesday, April 6, 2016 Edna Marjorie Mitchell Johnson of Sussex and formerly of Geary, NB, completed her earthly journey and entered into eternity to be with her Lord. Edna passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Tabusintac, NB on March 2, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Nellie Davidson.
Edna was a member of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church in Sussex. Prior to her retirement, Edna was employed as a Ward Clerk at the Oromocto Public Hospital for a number of years.
Edna is survived by her husband, Bliss D. Johnson of Sussex; her only daughter, Ruth Muscroft (John) of Roachville, NB; a daughter-in-law, Lena Mitchell of Oromocto; grandchildren, Todd (Shyanne) Muscroft, Mark (Rachael) Muscroft, Mitchell (Melissa) Muscroft, Troy Mitchell, Nicole Mitchell, Kyle (Nicole) Mitchell and Amanda Albright; great-grandchildren, Abanie, Brooklyn, Levi, Matthias, Gabriel, Aliyah, Eli, Hannah, Mitchell, Haley, Brett, Dexter, Isaiah, Nevaeh and Eva, a sister, Jean Jardine (Late Carson) of Miramichi; numerous nieces and nephews. Edna is also survived by step-daughters, Deborah Price (Jeff) and Judy Lawrence (Bob), also step-grandchildren Jordon, Bliss, Belinda and Brock.
Besides her parents, Edna was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene Mitchell; sons Malcolm and Ernest; infant granddaughter, Leanne Ruth Mitchell; siblings Georgina, Dorothy, May, Edie and Ronald.
Edna Mitchell Johnson will rest at Abundant Life UPC, 489 Main St. Sussex, NB on Saturday, April 9 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM and again of Sunday, April 10 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. A service celebrating the life of Edna Mitchell Johnson will be held from Abundant Life UPC on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Vincent officiating. Interment in the Preston Carr Cemetery, Geary, NB at a later date.
