The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, April 10, 2016, of Captain E.R. “Ben” Pike, of Summerside, aged 94 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in Burin, N.L., he was the son of the late John and Mary (Allen) Pike. Survived by his children Greta Pike, Reynolds (Linda) Pike and Heather Gaudet; by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Thelma (Williams) Pike; son Donald Pike; grandson Justin Pike; son-in-law Graham Gaudet; brothers George, Charlie and Doug; and by sisters Annie and Greta. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations to Trinity United Church, Summerside, would be appreciated.
