Anna "Sally" Calder

CALDER, ANNA "SALLY" CLAUDETTE
Anna, known by her family and friends as Sally, passed quietly away at her home in Moncton on Saturday morning, April 9, 2016, with her family at her side. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helena (Gould) Roy.
Sally retired in 1994 from 23 years of Geriatric Nursing at The Moncton Hospital and she always enjoyed helping others. She loved to read, crochet, knit, bake and enjoyed being around people. Sally was a valued member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) at St. Bernard’s for many years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Deer Island, where she lived for many years. Everyone enjoyed going to Sally’s for fun, good food and you never left hungry! Her kind and generous nature were a joy to be around. Her years at Pointe-de-Chêne held many great memories for her, predeceased by her husband, Ernie of 40 years, Sally continued on making a difference in the lives of those that knew her. Sally will be sadly missed and always in our hearts.
Sally will be deeply missed by her loving children, Louise Fisher of Moncton, NB, Barbara Darke (late Gregg) and Jim Calder (Layla) both of Alberta and John Calder (Wanda) of Back Bay, NB; grandchildren, Courtney, Robyn, Haley and Dustin; great grandchildren, Elisabeth and Sara; sisters, Rita LeBlanc (Alcide) and Shirley Bourque (late Antoine); many more through family, blended family and extended family, know that Sally loved them all even if not individually named.
In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her husband, Ernest “Ernie” Calder (1998); brother, Charles; sisters, Yvonne and Rose.
A gathering to celebrate Sally’s life will be held at 101 Norwood Ave., Moncton on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Interment, to be held at Fairhaven Cemetery, Deer Island, NB, at a later date. Sally’s arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally’s memory can be made to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (5200 Unit) or Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
