It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Monica MacDonald on Sunday April 10, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late William and Christine Petrie.
Monica is survived by one daughter ,Theresa (Garfield); four sons William (Stephanie), James (Linda), Daniel (Kathleen) and Todd (Nancy); 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Dannie; one grandchild, Holly; sister, Theresa (George Mitchell); brothers, John, William, Daniel and James.
In accordance with Monica’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home. There will be no visitation and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
The family would like to say "Thank You" to all the staff and nurses who cared for mom, especially those at Seaview Manor.
