It is with sad hearts that the family of Arthur W. Kitchen of Upper Kingsclear announce his passing at the Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam. He was 74. Born in Upper Kingsclear, he was a son of the late Walter and Lillian (McGuire) Kitchen.
Arthur and his wife Patsy owned and operated Kitchen’s Auto Body and Towing for over 40 years. Arthur enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Longs Creek, with family and friends. He was a member of the Upper Kingsclear Fire department for 33 years and spent 25 years as the Chief. Arthur received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal as well as the United Nations Volunteer of the Year Award.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 55 years the former Patsy-Ann LaKing; their children; Rob (Pam), Joe (Nikki) and Wally, grandchildren; Matthew, Courtney, Brady, Makayla, Mason and Caleb, three great-grandchildren, sisters; Velma Stafford, Grace Constant, Myrna Holland, Faye Stewart and Gloria MacKenzie, mother-in-law Bernice LaKing as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Mitch, brothers; Hazen, Eugene and Lloyd Kitchen, one sister Jennie Cochrane and a chosen brother Karl McIntire.
The family will receive condolences, at the Second Kingsclear Baptist Church, 15 Mazerolle Settlement Rd., Kingsclear on Friday, April 15th 2016 from 6 to 9 PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 PM from the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Kendall McCrea. A reception to follow at the Upper Kingsclear Community Center.
Memorials may be made to the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department.
