It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother and uncle Roy Skinner, in Oakville, Ont.
Roy is survived by his loving mother Mary (Foster) Skinner, brother Brian and nieces Alexa and Maddison, who were his pride and joy. He was blessed with many aunts and uncles, wonderful cousins and many close friends.
Roy will be joining his beloved father Burford Jr., grandparents Edmond and Jean Foster and Burford Sr. and Kaye Skinner.
Born in Middleton, N.S. to the Canadian Armed Forces life, Roy lived in Greenwood, N.S, Summerside, PEI, Shearwater, N.S., Ottawa, Ont., and Barrie, Ont., where he graduated at an early age as a registered optician. Settling in Oakville, Ont. to run his own business foreyes optical, he was devoted to the care of his clients for 38 years. He was a charismatic and loving person who enjoyed working with and helping people. As an avid sportsman he played competitive baseball, hockey, golf, skiing and had a passion for fishing.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. in the Salvation Army, 40 Union St., Glace Bay.
