TIBBS, MARLENE ELIZABETH
The death of Marlene Elizabeth (Merritt) Tibbs of Waasis occurred on April 27th, 2016 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born February 21st, 1948 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Manford and Winona (Jones) Merritt and wife to Rupert Tibbs.
Marlene could be seen working in The Jewel Box in what was the Oromocto Mall for many years. She loved people and the love she showed reflected in how many friends and relationships she had. She also loved birds, and anyone who knew her would know the Cardinal was her favorite. Marlene was an active member of the Oromocto Baptist Church.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Rupert; her children, Mindy Lauzon (Ernie) of Guelph, ON and Robert Collet (Mary) of Geary, NB; step-children, Iris Forbes (Larry), Harvey Tibbs (Jean) and Douglas Tibbs (Pauline); grandchildren, Sage, Andrea, Nashyra, Jordan and Sequoia; step-grandchildren, John, Leanne, Dusty and Tye as well as one sister, Judy Merritt.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, April 29th, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley officiating. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
