Norwood, Greta Marie
It is with great sadness that the family of Greta Marie Norwood announces her passing on Thursday, April 28th, 2016.
Born in Jemseg, NB, on February 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eileen (Hamm) Molasky and wife of the late John Andrew Norwood.
Marie is survived by her step-mother, Marguerite Molasky of Saint John, NB; half-sisters, Carolyn Appleby (Eddie) of Appleby’s Point, NB, and Debbie Thorne (George) of Thompson, MB; a half-brother, Alan Molansky (Linda) of Saint John, NB; special aunt Eileen Ferris of Jemseg, NB ; nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Marie lived most of her married life in Dartmouth, NS. She attended Evangel Temple where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. After retirement, they returned to Gagetown, but, with failing health, she was admitted to Orchard View Nursing Home. Johnny, her mate of 56 years, came to visit every night until his death in 2010. We thank the staff of Orchard View for the compassionate care they gave Marie and making her part of the Orchard View family.
Visitation will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, May 1st, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 2nd, 2016, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Gerald Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Orchard View Memorial Gardens in Saint John. Donations in Marie’s memory can be made to Orchard View Gardens or to the charity of one’s choice.
