Smith, Charlene Belle
It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Charlene Belle (Christiansen) Smith on April 29, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, NB on June 1, 1946 and was the loving wife to Percy Smith.
Charlene worked in the accounting field as a book keeper for many years and through many organizations, most recently at H&R Block. She was a giving and caring person, spending her spare time knitting hats for premature babies in the hospital. She was a huge hockey fan, and enjoyed spending her summers at the Pirate’s Cove Campground with her family. She was known for her dry wit, and will be very deeply missed by all who knew her.
Along with Percy, Charlene is survived by her son Tony (Coleen Thompson) Smith of Welsford, NB, daughters; Julie (Darren) Levine of Woodstock, ON and Tracy Smith of Saint John, NB, her two sweet grandchildren; Ethan and Courtney, brothers; Chuck Christiansen of Willow Grove, NB, and Larry (Diane Buckley) Christiansen of Saint John, NB along with two nephews Brian and Jarod.
She was predeceased by her mother Rita Christiansen and sister-in-law Julie Christiansen.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1 from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 3pm with interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
