Lindsay Ingersoll
INGERSOLL, LINDSAY JANET
Lindsay Ingersoll, of Fort McMurray Alberta (formerly of Quispamsis NB) passed away at the Moncton Hospital on May 2, 2016 at the age of 36. She was born in Sussex, June 5, 1979 and is the daughter of Pastor Don and Janet (Ryder) Ingersoll.
Lindsay was a Public School Teacher in Fort McMurray, Alberta and a member of the Kings Valley Wesleyan Church in Quispamsis and McMurray Gospel Assembly in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Lindsay will live on in the hearts of her parents, her brother, Brad Ingersoll and his wife Rachel of Sussex; her precious niece, Cailyn; her adorable nephew, Colton; her maternal grandmother, Myrtle Ryder of Moncton and her paternal grandmother, Kathleen Ingersoll of Fredericton; as well as a dearly loved family including her aunts Shirley DeMerchant and her husband Ross, Joanne LeRoy and her husband David, her uncle Doug and his wife Karen, and many cousins and their families.
Most of Lindsay's formative experiences as a child and a teenager were in the context of her church at Kings Valley Wesleyan and her beloved Caton's Island and Beulah Camp. She delighted in being fully immersed in every activity, project, concert or outing that the children's ministry or youth group did. Her summers on the Saint John River were wonderful, and vacations found Lindsay, Brad and her parents either at the cottage with the Ingersoll clan, or at the camp with the Ryder family. They tented, skied, fished, four wheeled and travelled a lot. Her wonderful time at Beulah and Catons instilled in her a love for the Lord and for children. Along with her parents, music was her life during those years, playing in the school band, serving on the worship team, singing and performing in the seasonal productions both at school and at the church. Her comedic roles are memorable even today. She became someone who loved and contributed to the ministry of her church.
Eight years of teaching a variety of grades found her firmly established in Alberta. Summers were spent travelling abroad or on the boat with her family back in New Brunswick. Christmas break was a highly anticipated flight back to Moncton to lavish her love on her family, her Grammies and her precious Colton and Cailyn.
On her final morning on this earth, she spoke gratefully about the love and forgiveness of God that she sensed so keenly. She believed for a miracle with her family, yet trusting Christ she gracefully and courageously released her grip on the present for the eternal. Her adventure had begun.
She was much loved. Her own personal challenges gave her an openness that drew people to her. She always valued people, and was intent on including others in whatever was happening. Lindsay's love for her family and friends was evidenced over and over. Her humour was there at even the darkest moments. Her smile lit up the room. She will never, ever be forgotten. One day soon, in the presence of Christ, we will join her at the party... hanging with her friends, enjoying the moment and living it to the max... forever.
