CORMIER, LAURENT
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Laurent O. Cormier, loving husband of Elizabeth (Landry) Cormier which occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1933 in St. Leonard, NB he was the son of the late Octave and Celina (Gagnon) Cormier.
Laurent was a member of Local #6, employed as a welder with Saint John Ironworks. In his younger years Laurent was an avid hunter. He and Elizabeth loved to play cards and attended many card parties throughout the years.
In addition to his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by his son Wayne (Patricia) Cormier of Saint John; daughters Linda (William) Brownrigg of St. Andrew’s, NB and Shelley Bovaird of Saint John; grandchildren Christopher, Celina, Carlee, Alicia and Aaron; brother Levite (Rita) of St. Basil, NB, Claude (Geraldine) of Grand Falls, NB and Roger (Hercule) of Grand Falls, NB; sisters Albertine Levesque of St. Andre, NB and Rina Cormier of St. Leonard, NB; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughters Lorraine Arseneault and Dianne Cormier, 10 brothers and three sisters.
Following cremation visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
