It is with special memories and saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Linda Marie Sams on Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the An Cala Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Neil’s Harbour on Dec. 25, 1949 Linda was the daughter of the late Alfred and Helen (MacLeod) Jackson.
Linda was a graduate of Sydney Academy and CB Business College. She spent many years working as an office administrator for Dr. Allen, NS Power and later for the Highlands Medical Clinic in Neil’s Harbour. She taught typing for 18 years for NSVSB and she took pride in her impeccable cursive writing. She was also past-president of RCL Branch 105.
Linda is survived by her loving husband AG of 44 years; her two sons, Aaron Sams of Dartmouth and Adam (Alison) Sams; her special granddaughter Madelyn; her sister, Mary Sue (Gladstone) MacKinnon all of Ingonish; niece: Justine; nephews, Andrew, Kyle and Logan.
Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her sister Cathy.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Buchanan Memorial Hospital in Neil’s Harbour as well as the staff at the Renal Clinic at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place Tuesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at the Ingonish United Church with Rev. Carolyn Sharpe officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Buchanan Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
