SMITH, GEORGE RICHARD "DICK"
It is with great sadness that the family of Dick Smith of Fredericton, NB, announce his passing, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the age of 83 years at the Hospice House in Fredericton. Dick was born in Christie Ridge, New Brunswick on January 18, 1933. He graduated from Forestry school in 1959 and moved to Hinton, Alberta in March of 1960 where he raised his family.
Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Maxine, and his children, Cindy (Jim) Gomien and Brenda (Bruce) Blair. Dick will also be fondly remembered by his sisters, Janet (Marc) Guimond, Mary (Martin) Krupa, Terry (Lawrence) Gamache; a brother, Lenord; ten grandchildren, Sean (Leila) Morris, Lewis (MarieClaude) Morris, Damon Schooley, Rosalie (Joe) Mellot, Clifton Schooley, Kipp Blair, Kali (Adam) MacDonald, Kelci Blair, Andrea and Brett Gomien, along with twelve great-grandchildren Xana, Lexine, Maxim, Olivia, Luke, Makyla, Tori, Levi, Walker and Grayson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dick was predeceased by his daughter Ronda, brothers Jerome and Lowell as well as his parents Margaret and Harry Smith.
For those of you who wish to make a donation in memory of Dick, the family has suggested The Fredericton Hospice House or a charity of your choice.
As per the request of the family, there will be no visitation or service until a later date.
The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the Fredericton Hospice House and staff for their kindness and compassion shown to Dad during his stay.
