At the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, of Irene McCarville (nee Greenan), formerly of Shamrock, aged 88 years. Wife of the late Ambrose McCarville. Born in Kinkora she was a daughter of the late St. Clair, Michael Greenan and the late Millie (Connick) Greenan. Mother of Clarence (Maxine) of Shamrock; Arlene McCormack, Borden-Carleton; Barry (Ellen), Shamrock; Clair (Kathy), Airdrie, Alta.; Maureen (Dean), Cornwall, P.E.I.; and Randy (Shelley) Freetown. Survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Sister of Wanda (late Emmett Conway) of Summerside. Predeceased by daughter Nora (David Warren); son-in-law, Chris McCormack; grandson, Matthew; sisters, Genevieve Hammill and Nora Greenan; brother Harold Greenan and great-grandchildren Maggie, Madison and MacKenzie Keough. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora, with visiting hours on Tuesday, May 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, on Wednesday, May 18, at 10:30 a.m. Members of the Catholic Women's League will say prayers at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to St. Malachy's Restoration Fund or to the Children's Memorial, Scales Pond.
