William Buxton

BUXTON, WILLIAM FREDERICK
Glenburn, Maine – William Frederick Buxton, Licensed Denturist, known to many as Bill, Billy, Billy “Wallet”, Mr. Bill, Will, Dad and Jr, passed away suddenly May 12 in his home on Pushaw Lake surrounded by Fiancé Cheryl and beloved pets Gracie “Goose”, Sam and Jack. Bill was the only child of Nancy and the late William D Buxton. He was born July 24th, 1964 in Fredericton NB, where he attended local area schools but completed his High School education in Sussex, New Brunswick.
Bill had many opportunities in his life that contributed to the remarkable man we will all remember. His father, a fellow Denturist, traveled the world with his family as a Military man giving Bill a chance to experience many different cultures that enriched his understanding and compassion for others. He followed in his father’s footsteps by attending George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario and becoming a Denturist. Upon graduating Bill moved to Bangor, Maine where he opened his first of many Denture Clinics in 1998. His love of his job spilled over onto his daughter Stephanie, making this a 3rd generation family business.
Passionate about his career and helping advancing the profession for future Denturist, he started The New England School of Dental Technology, which saw the first 11 students graduate just last month, a very proud moment for him. He served on the Board of Dental Examiners and various other positions and committees within his profession. Although committed to the Denturist profession his interest didn’t stop there. He enjoyed fishing, boating, 4 wheeling, golfing, camping, snowmobiling, and travel. He enjoyed spending time with his family which also included his employees of the New England Denture Centers, Coffee Break Café and B &B Dental, as he saw everyone in his life like they were family.
Bill is survived by his Fiancé Cheryl Bouchard of Glenburn, Maine; his precious daughter Stephanie and her husband Shawn Scott of Hermon, Maine; and her mother Esther Keirstead of New Brunswick; his stepson Patrick Allen and his wife Erica and their daughter Emerson; step-daughters Shelby and Shawna Richards; his mother Nancy Buxton of Bangor, Maine.; his grandmothers Gloria Munn of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Barbara Buxton of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and many aunts, uncles and cousins across Canada.
He was predeceased by his wife Allison (Allen) Buxton in 2006; father William D. Buxton in 2011; grandfathers Frederick I. Munn, William E. Buxton; and very special aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of his life will be held 2pm, Friday May 20th at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor, Maine, with Pastor Bobby Bledsoe, pastor of CityReach Church – Bangor, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share and exchange stories of how this magnificent man impacted us all at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., immediately following the service.
