Donna Leard

LEARD, DONNA LYNN
Surrounded by her loving and adoring family, our dear wife, sister and mother passed away peacefully at Kings Way Care Center in the early morning of May 16th, 2016. Donna was the daughter of the late Edgar McCoy and Laura (nee-Gibbons).
Ever gracious, thoughtful and loving, Donna never lost her sense of humour or sunny outlook on life despite numerous health setbacks over the last few years. Her quiet nature belied her fierce loyalty, strength of character and determination. A source of support and inspiration to her husband, and deep and unconditional love to her children, Donna will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Neal of 49 years; daughters Terry Duke (the late Bob Duke) of Saint John, Michelle Leard (Gustavo Bautista) of Quispamsis; son Neal Jr. (Erin Brien) of Saint John; sisters Joan Hughes of Hampton, Sandra Gray of Waterloo, ON; brothers Bob McCoy (Nancy) of Saint John, Larry McCoy (Emily) of Grand Bay; loving grandchildren Owen and Mia Leard; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brother Gerald McCoy.
Donna’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Kings Way Care Center, who provided first class care to Donna during her final years, and unwavering empathy and support in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kings Way LifeCare Alliance Foundation (www.thekingswaylifecarealliance.ca) or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, May 19th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
