It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Brandon Joseph MacMullin-MacNeil on May 13, 2016 at the age of 24.
Brandon was born in Belleville, Ont. on Feb 22, 1992 and raised in Marion Bridge, Cape Breton. He was the son of Corrie MacMullin and Jim MacNeil of Grand Mira North and cherished brother Kristian MacNeil.
Brandon is survived by his grandparents, Sadie (Cibbs) MacMullin (late Jerry MacMullin), Francis ‘Tis’ MacNeil (late Harry MacNeil) and great-grandmother, Anna MacMullin. He was also survived by his aunts and uncles, Junior (Cherie) MacMullin, Connie MacMullin (Shawn), Margie MacMullin, Joe MacMullin (Sarah), Margie (Ken) MacDonald, Harold (Lisa) MacNeil.
Brandon was adored and will be missed by his cousins, Patrick, Keysha, Liam, William, Cailey, Alicia, Emily and Faith.
The McJannet family were also very special to Brandon, as was his best friend and “blood brother” Stephen Cipak.
Brandon was a hands on kind of person from a very young age, tinkering with his Poppy in the yard or working in the McJannet’s garage, eventually developing into an accomplished welder.
Affectionaly known as “B” to his close circle of friends, Brandon’s warm smile, gentle nature and kind heart will be missed by all.
His family and friends were the most important part of his life and he loved the warmth, laughter and memories that family or social gathering would bring.
“The gentle giant” amongst his friends, Brandon was often the life of the party and his smile and laugh would light up a room.
He loved being around his friends, in the garage, hunting, fishing, swimming or just hanging around Marion Bridge. He was a young man who positively affected all he met, a beautiful soul who left us too early.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, May19, 2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Marion Bridge with Fr. Paul McGillvray officiating.
