MULOCK, NORMAN WILLIAM
Norman William Mulock, 83, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 20, 2016. Born on June 2, 1932 in Bridgewater, NS, he was the son of the late Norman St. Clair Mulock and Amy (Silver) Mulock.
He is sadly missed by his wife of almost 60 years, Norma Joan (Alward) and his children, Greg of Riverview, NB, Nancy of Halifax, NS and Stephen of Ottawa, ON. Norman is also survived by his brother, Edward (Bernice) of Vancouver, BC; sister, Phyllis Lohnes (late Murray) of Halifax, NS; sister-in-law, Margaret Knowles (Ron) of Ottawa, ON; brothers-in-law, Keith Alward (Doris) of Sussex, NB, Dalton Alward (Maggie) of Red Deer, AB and David Alward (Dorothy) of Halifax, NS; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Crouse (late Freeman) of Lunenburg, NS.
Norman had been a proud and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police having served for 23 years in more than half a dozen detachments across New Brunswick. He retired with the rank of Sergeant and then went into private business for a number of years. He was a member of First Moncton United Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and had served on various church boards. He was a member of the Probus Club and was a former board member and volunteer with the Karing Kitchen. Norman had belonged to the Country Meadows Golf Club and in his younger years gave back to the community by volunteering his time as both as a Cub and Scout leader. He was also a former member of the Kiwanis Club. Norman was an avid bird watcher and enthusiastic walker, heading out for brisk evening walks right up until the time of his passing. He greatly enjoyed watching baseball games on TV, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays. Another favorite pass time was playing bridge. He looked forward to his bi-weekly games with friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 157 Queen St., Moncton on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Delbert Bannister and Rev. Sandy Sutherland officiating. Reception following the service in the church hall. Interment will be held in St. Matthews Cemetery, Upper LaHave, NS. Arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
