STEEVES, ERNEST DENSMORE
Ernest “Ernie” D. Steeves, 89, of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Born in Rosevale, NB he was the son of the late William and Martha (Ricker) Steeves.
Ernest was retired from CN Express with 25 years’ service and was the former owner of Northend Builders. He was a member of Sunny Brae Baptist Church and attended Parkside Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with wood, especially in his workshop at his residence, bowling, golfing, travelling and spending time with his family and friends.
Ernest will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 69 years, Vivian (Wilson) Steeves of Moncton; his children, Marlane Rule (Ed), Darrell Steeves and Terry Steeves, all of Moncton; grandchildren, Tim Brine (Julie Hawkes), Kathleen and Chelsie Steeves; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Carrie Brine; brother, Ivan Steeves (late Velma) of Moncton; sister-in-law, Greta Steeves of Lower Coverdale; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tanya Brine; brothers, Vaughn and Martin; sisters, Vivian, Lena and Geraldine; son in law, Bud Brine.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate Ernest’s Life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mitch Whittington officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
