LITTLE, MYRTLE JANE
With great sadness the family of Myrtle J. Little of Harvey, NB announce her passing at Wauklehegan Manor on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Myrtle was born on July 9, 1921 in Harvey, NB to parents, Wilmot and Ella (Dykeman) Grieve. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Little.
She leaves to treasure her memory, her three children, Lester (Norma), Judy McNally (John) and Ross (Beverley), all of Harvey, NB. Her eight grandchildren have many fond memories of times spent with Grammie, Heidi Little, Laura Sangster (Shaun), Martin McNally (Shari), Michael McNally (Elaine), Ian Little (Susan), Robert Little (Kristi), Shawn Little (Melissa) and Alicia Little. She was great grandmother to twelve (soon to be thirteen) great-grandchildren. She was a special aunt to several nieces and nephews and a friend to many.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Emerson; a brother-in-law, Fred Little and sisters-in-law, Mildred Grieve, Lottie Messer, Rosella Little and Jessie Little.
Myrtle was a homemaker all her life and had mastered the art of making a house a home. Family was her number one priority. She was a faithful choir member and an active participant in the life and work of Knox Presbyterian Church, including Knox Centennial Guild and ladies quilting group. As a charter member of the Harvey Music Festival since 1967, she served as the adjudicator’s secretary for several years. Other community organizations included Cornelius Craft Guild, Harvey Curling Club and Harvey Hospital Aid.
Visitation will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey, NB on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Anne Boudreau officiating, assisted by Rev. Kay Clowater. Interment at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church youth hall.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Myrtle, the family has suggested the Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey Settlement Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Wauklehegan Manor for the respectful and loving care of our mother.
