1939 - 2016
Carol Madeline (O’Leary) Scott, wife of Eric Scott of Toronto Drive, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on May 24th at the age of 77 after a bravely-fought battle with cancer. Born in Fredericton, NB, Carol was the daughter of the late Hazen and Mary O’Leary.
She went to school and was married in Fredericton. Eric’s career meant many moves, including a year in Germany. Her final home was in Retirement Miramichi.
Carol was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife, a poetry writer, and an active member of the ACW (Anglican Church Women). Her kindness, gentle spirit and loving support were apparent to all who knew her. Carol’s world was her family and she filled that world with happiness, good times, strength, optimism and compassion.
Carol is survived by her husband, Eric, two daughters Shelly (Tony) VanBuskirk of Miramichi, Cindy (Joe) Sivitilli of Moncton; two sons Rod of Calgary and Peter (Christie) of Fredericton; three sisters Marina Evans (Waterville, QC), Sue Scott (Kerrs Ridge) and Alice Flinn (Fredericton); and five grandchildren Ryan, Evan, Jack, Jenna and Lucas.
Carol is resting at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, with visiting on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Marys Anglican Church, on Monday, May 30, 2016, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Gordon Thompson.
