Anita Wedge

WEDGE, ANITA
God’s humble servant, Anita (Cormier) Wedge, passed into His realm in the morning hours of May 27, 2016, at the Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton, New Brunswick. Six loving children bore witness to her transition, a testament to the love that she had bestowed on each of them. She leaves a beautiful, lasting impact on the lives of those who knew her and who cherished a woman whose innate, extraordinary goodness radiated from within. She now reunites with her husband of 71.5 years, Rene Wedge, and they will join hands to continue their devoted guidance from above.

Her family was her raison d'être and the children privileged to call her Mom include Elmina (Roland Bernard), Simonne (Bob Little), Clifford, Viola (Brian Moores), Claude (Carol Bernard), Rick (Kristin Grzegorek) and Margaret Ann (Legresley) Chamberlain who tenderly looked upon Anita as her own children did. She was predeceased by two infant children, Cleopha and Mary. Enduring memories will transcend her passing and remembrances of a loving mémère remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Carl Little (Enkelejda), Melanie Little Khan (Riaz), Denise Wedge, David Wedge, Emily Prout (Chris), Carter Wedge, Ashley Moores, Daron Moores and Elly Wedge. Four great– grandchildren added to the joy in her life: Ben and Monique Khan and Aidan and Avery Prout. There are nieces, nephews, friends and others whose devotion filled her soul and became part of her extended family; their generosity of spirit was a comfort to her and her children. They extended Anita’s immediate family as they loved and befriended her always and supported and assisted her whenever needed.

She was born in 1925, the daughter of Catherine (Richard) and Jean–Batiste Cormier of Rogersville, New Brunswick, and the beloved sibling of Lorette, Anna, Elodie and the predeceased Aurelie, Marie, Edmond, Leo and Elise.

Anita enriched the lives of many with her warm embrace of, and exceptionally compassionate approach to all living creatures. She was known for her genuine expressions of appreciation for kindnesses extended to her. A good sense of humor, love of music, enjoyment of information technology (introduced to her in her mid–80's) and a passion for lifelong learning distinguished this extraordinary, gentle lady. Her ready acceptance, respect and tolerance of all humankind was a shining example of the moral path she steadfastly followed. Most particularly, her selfless instinct to ensure the happiness and comfort of others prior to her own, defined her honorable character. Anita Wedge: sincerely loved, much admired, forever missed.

Anita Wedge rested at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Chatham Head on Monday from 10am until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 11am from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Chatham Head with Fr Paul LeBlanc officiating.

As an expression of sympathy a donation to the memorial of one's choice would be appreciated.
