Following a courageous battle with cancer, John passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the L.A. Miller Center, surrounded by his loving family, and his devoted companion and soul-mate of 10 years Sheila Dillon, and her caring family. Predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Pearl, mother Cora, father John Sr., brothers Archibald and Wilson, sisters Pearl, Mabel, Mildred, Sue, Laura and Mary. Remaining behind to celebrate his life with fond and loving memories are his sister Dean (Don) Gosse, brother Fred (friend Mary), his children Jacqueline (Darren) Jackson, John (Doreen), Eugene (Jacqueline), Ian (Carol), grandchildren Crystalynn, Charmaine, Brenda, Dion, Jennifer, Paul, Jonathan, Renee, great-grandchildren Bradley, Cameron, David, Gracie, Jackson, Cole, Hope, brother-in-law Adolphus Benson, very special Friend Sheila Dillon and her family Sandra (Ron) Cook, Ronnie, Mathew, Patsy (Jerry) Young, Renee, Jennifer, Tina (Paul) Coffey, Jonathan, Dylan, Wayne (Pauline) Dillon, Christopher, Pat (Trish) Dillon, Rachel ,Michael, Robert Dillon (deceased), Ryan, Robyn, Samantha, Dianne (deceased), Bob Cahill. John (Jack) was a kind, loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a caring friend and partner to Sheila. Blessed with two loving families to share his life with, John had a special bond with all who knew him. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Chris Smith at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital and the care team on the Palliative Care Ward at the L.A. Miller Center for the help, support and compassion provided to John and his family during these very trying times. Resting at Holloways Funeral Home 33A Cabot Avenue, Whitbourne. Visitation on Tuesday, June 7 from 7-9 pm, Wednesday, June 8 from 10 am - 4 pm and 6-9 pm and Thursday, June 9 from 10 am to time of funeral. Funeral service to take place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Whitbourne at 11 am on June 9, 2016. Interment, will be held at a later date following Cremation.
