RUSSELL, JOHN MELVIN "MEL"
It is with great sadness the family of John Melvin Russell “Mel” announces his peaceful passing at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 just 3 months shy of his 97th year. Mel was born in Oak Hill, NB, September 15, 1919, the son of Frederick and Winnifed (Nolan) Russell and resided there on the family farm for most of his life.

In the last few years of their lives, he and Ina had moved to Carleton County due to declining health.

Mel was married 67 years to the love of his life, Ina (Vail) and they raised two children: Sheila Lloyd (Douglas), and Brian Russell (Gail). He is survived by his children, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, siblings in law, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elva (Walter) Hanson, and his granddaughter Amy Lloyd.

Funeral Service will be held at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2 PM. Visiting will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 2 PM. St Croix Legion Branch # 9 will hold a tribute service immediately following the funeral service. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill, NB.
