Date de décès : 17 juin 2016

Passed away peacefully on June 17, 2016 in her 97th year in Bonavista; surrounded by her daughters Maureen and Jeanette and son in laws Barry and Stu. Edith (or Eva as called by some) was born on November 21, 1918 in Bonavista where she lived until age 14 when she moved to St. John's to work and eventually marry and raise her family. In 2002 she returned to her family home which she loved dearly and where she remained self-sufficient and independent primarily due to the support of her son-in-law Barry who affectionately called her Mom. She was pre-deceased by her husband Reginald; her sons Ed, Billy and Gary; and daughter Shirley, daughter-in-law Dot. She leaves to mourn her daughters Maureen (Barry Fisher) and Jeanette (Stu Vokey); her son Bob (Suzanne Brake); and son-in-law Rodney Flitcroft. She also leaves "numerous" grandchildren, great-grand-children and great-great grandchildren who all know who you are and how much you were loved by your Nan. She also leaves many other nieces and nephews and relatives and friends, young and old who touched her long life in many ways. Lastly, she leaves her four legged companion Rosie who she loved dearly. Special thanks to those who helped her and our family during the last challenging days of her life especially Darlene Mackey, Cathy Harris, Jeanette Russell and Dr. Allister Paul. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, June 21, 216 from Caul's Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
