We regret to announce the sudden passing of Frankie Hawkins, 48, at his home in Toronto, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Born in Sydney Mines on Aug. 30, 1967, he was the son of Jody Hawkins and the late Joan (Pearo) Hawkins. He was formerly of Florence, and had been living in Toronto for over 20 years.
He leaves behind his sons, Devon and Derek, both of Ontario; his father, Jody; brothers and sisters, Mary (Wayne) Pero, Joe (Barb), Susan Young, Jakie (Karen), Ricky (Marilyn), Joanne (Brad) Rahey, Kenny (Allan) and John. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his mother Joan, he was predeceased by a sister, Valerie; brothers, John Blair and Brian David in infancy; brother-in-law, Raymond Young; grandparents, John and Mary Pearo and John and Mary Hawkins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, at 11 a.m., in Carman United Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating. The burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
