SAVAGE, GEORGIA OLIVE "JO"
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on July 4, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, of our dear mother, Georgia Olive Savage of Fredericton, NB. Mum was born August 16, 1922 to the late Ernest Cole and Glendora (MacFarlane) Cole and was the wife of the late James Raymond Savage.

Mum is survived by her children Reginald Douglas Savage (Carolyn), Daniel Patrick Savage, Edward Maurice (Mike) Savage, Mary Colleen Savage, Barbara Jean Stratmoen (David) and Mary Ellen McDonald; grandchildren Raymond Savage (Alana), Matthew Savage (Jenn), Aaron Savage (Kim), Ryan Savage (Karen), and Allison Michaud (Troy), and several great–grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as her sister Donna O’Neill and half–sister Ruth Albrecht.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Raymond, Mum was predeceased by her grandson Bradley Savage; sisters Glenna Mazerall, Iris Boyd, Hazel Mogard and Cora Barrett; brothers Emelus, James and Leon Cole, and half–sister Rose Smith.

Mum’s love for her family was unmeasurable and she never wavered in her caring and generosity. She had many joyful stories from the years she and Dad spent as members of the Fredericton Golf Club and the Fredericton Curling Club and very much enjoyed her friendships found through those years. She was also involved in the past with the St. Dunstan’s CWL and Ste. Anne’s Point Chapter of I.O.D.E.

Public visitation and prayers will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York St., Fredericton on Friday, July 8 from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass celebrating Mum’s life will be held at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church, 120 Regent St., Fredericton on Saturday, July 9 at 10 am, with Father Bill Brennan officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre. A private interment ceremony will be held for family members in the Hermitage Cemetery following the reception.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mum’s memory to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed through
