Ronald Derry

DERRY, RONALD
It is with great sadness the family of Ronald Robert Alexander Derry of Tracyville announce his passing peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on July 7th, 2016. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Bruce Franklin and Elsie Elizabeth (Maddox) Derry.

Ron will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sherry; sisters Elsie (Harold) Thompson and Francis Hurley of Calgary; brother Mike of Tracyville; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Frank.

Ron was retired but had worked for forty years for the Province of New Brunswick in Facilities Management at the Centennial Building. He and Sherry enjoyed travelling, their yearly trips to PEI and attending music concerts. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter that loved the woods, his camps, four wheeling and his hunting buddies. He was an accomplished musician and played guitar beautifully as well as blues harp. He was also a craft beer brewer with his own utube beer channel and had many friends and subscribers around the world. Ron was a larger than life personality that filled the room with his presence and his humour and pranks were legendary.

Although there will be no visitation a Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 13th at 2 PM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel.

For those who wish, memorials in Ron’s memory may be made to the Hospice Fredericton, Palliative Care unit or to the Women’s Shelter.
