CORMIER, ADÉLA
Adèla Cormier of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe (formerly of Old Shediac Rd, Memramcook) passed away at the CHU Dr. Georges L. Dumont on Friday July 8, 2016 at the age of 95. Born in Moncton on September 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George Bourgeois and the late Albina Leger and her late step mother Marguerite Bourque who raised her.
She was a seamstress by trade and took great pride in her excellent work. She was employed by Lounsbury Company until her retirement. She also loved sewing for neighbors and friends but especially making jockey silks for harness racing jockeys. She also enjoyed making quilts and knitting. It was her passion to admire her finished work which was always perfect. Her family will cherish all of her work that she so lovingly shared with them.
She will be sadly missed by her three children, Normand (Diana), Paul (Aurise), Jacqueline (Guy); five grandchildren, Tina, Darrel, Georges (Carole), Serge (Kathy) and Janelle (Etienne); four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jonathan, Emile and Felix and two step great grandchildren, Alexandre and Vanessa; one sister, Bernice (late Rene) Dupuis of Lynn, Ma; many sisters–in–laws; a special nephew Raymond (Allison) and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gérard (1997), two sisters, Rita (2005) and Corinne (2003); two brothers, Henri and Zoël (2015) and by two special nephews Eugène and Roger.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Tuesday, July 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, St–Joseph on Wednesday, July 13 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Atelier Artisan, Fond Melissa or any other local charity.
The family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to her many caregivers during these last few years especially to all the staff at Auberge du Soleil and Lydia, you made her last months exactly how she wanted them to be.
