With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Juanita Stewart on June 23, 2016 at Scarborough Hospital, Ontario with her husband Terry and her Mom Judi holding her hands as she found peace at last after a long illness at age 44.
Juanita was born in Glace Bay, Jan. 14, 1972, to Judi McIntyre Christoff and the late Robert Stewart. She was a caring, loving daughter, wife, sister and friend. Nita had a great sense of humour and loved to tell jokes. She enjoyed bingo games and had pen and puzzle book in hand always. Nita also collected anything with dolphins or butterflies. She was a big fan of “Corrie St.” and loved children, especially her niece, Alexis. She worked at Shoppers for a time then she decided to finish her education. She received her Grade 12 Diploma and Certificate of Achievement at Midland College and Science Award of Merit at Centennial College of Arts. She also went on to get her Hairdressing/Cosmetology/Esthetics certificate, but, due to her illness wasn’t able to fulfill her dreams.
Nita is survived by husband, Terry Gamble of Scarborough, Ont.; mother, Judi and stepfather, Adrian Christoff; brother, Conrad (Andrea) and niece, Alexis; uncles and aunts, Jimmy (Charlene) McIntyre, Gordie McIntyre, Marg (Don) Vaters, Kathleen (Adrian) Bona, Charles (Barb) Stewart, in-laws, Harry (Diane) Gamble, Ontario and numerous cousins, extended family and Best Friends.
Nita was predeceased by father, Robert Stewart; grandparents, Gordon and Edith McIntyre, Clarence and Hilda Stewart and aunts, Linda McIntyre, Ginny MacLean; uncles, Angus Reid, Donald Stewart. Cremation has taken place.
A celebration and memorial service of her life will be announced at a later date.
