On July 15, 2016 our family lost an amazing woman and our family matriarch Ruth Alice Legare. Born to Blanche and Lewis Chapman on July 31, 1925, Ruth lived a life full of family and friends who will miss her dearly. A blind date led to a meeting that would result in her marriage to Victor Joseph Legare and a busy family of four. In her earlier years Ruth worked at the Grant Hall; finishing off her working career at the Moose Jaw Medical Clinic, retiring at 69 years of age. As her family grew older Ruth became a world traveler and spent many wonderful vacations with close friends Bernice and Tony. Enjoying her coffee club she spoke fondly of the “girls” and their times together. She would laugh about their antics and garden party hats. Ruth leaves to mourn her passing son Victor (Wendy) Legare, daughters Glenna Holness and Bonnie Legare, son Dale (Martine) Legare; and sister Helen Kryzanowski. Her pride and joy included six wonderful grandchildren and three cherished great-grandchildren. Ruth is predeceased by her husband of over forty years Victor, her parents Blanche and Lewis, brothers Bob and Ken Chapman, and son-in-law Wayne Holness. Ruth’s life will be celebrated at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday July 22, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Extendicare Family Support Group would be appreciated. In living memory of Ruth, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
