Strange, Heather
October 2, 1961- July 16, 2016

Heather Strange (nee Loeppky) passed away in the company of her family on July 16, 2016 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Heather was born and raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on October 2, 1961, and lived there happily until 1989. She moved to Calgary to try something new, and began another happy chapter, that soon included husband Jim and then children Maddy and Haley. Heather's life revolved around her family and her love was unconditional. Heather was a ferocious advocate for herself, her kids, family and friends. While she fought battle after battle against cancer, she did not let that struggle define her. Anyone who met Heather was inspired by her sunny outlook, brilliant positivity and her refusal to feel sorry for herself. Heather will be deeply missed by her sisters Lorraine, Marie, Fran, her brother Sheldon, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She has been reunited with her parents, Henry and Virginia Loeppky. Heather's family would like to thank the staff in Unit 47 at the Foothills Hospital, Tom Baker Cancer Centre and especially Dr. Marc Webster and RN Nancy Moore for their dedication, compassion and care. A Celebration of Heather’s life was held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive NW, Calgary) on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00am.
